2020 has been a year of learning and adjusting for many, including us at Cottonwood Institute. Normally we would be in high gear getting ready for The Throwdown, our annual charity cornhole tournament. However, due to the present circumstances, we have decided to cancel all of our in person events for 2020.
But, never fear! The CI team is small but mighty and we pride ourselves on our ability to shift on the fly and make things happen. We are beyond excited to announce our brand new virtual event, The Move-A-Thon to benefit Cottonwood Institute. I’m sure you’re wondering, what is a Move-A-Thon? Remember those Walk-A-Thons that we all did at some point in elementary school? It’s like that, but with a modern twist!
Getting involved is super easy. Choose a human powered outdoor activity, set up your fundraising page, and get moving! We will be using the Endomondo App to track miles over the course of the event. The event will kick off on July 6th and end August 8th, 2020 with a super fun virtual party from 6 – 8pm MT.
We will end this amazing month long event by celebrating our top movers, and all of the money we’ve raised, by gathering virtually via zoom for an Awards Party. Our party will include a virtual cocktail lesson, virtual DJ, and awards for top mover, fundraiser, and best mover costume. We will also have some fabulous items to bid on in our silent and live auctions, and we will get to hear from the 2020 CI Ripple Effect Award student winners.
Grab your friends, your families, your neighbors and get moving! Since this event is virtual, anyone can participate from anywhere in the world. We want to encourage you all to build some community and have fun! All of this money that we raise from this event will go towards supporting our students, programs, and organization. Every contribution helps to sustain CI as we navigate the COVID-19 crisis.
