Honey Raised Some Money for the Earth Task Force

etf-bakesale-2016-2The Earth Task Force (ETF) held a bake sale of yummy pastries that all contained honey to promote pollinators. ETF students decided to do this for the pollinators that are in danger of becoming extinct and the team wanted to earn money to give to an organization that helps pollinators. They also wanted to help educate New Vista High School about pollinators so they start to care and become aware about how important they are to our planet.

The whole team of ETF helped create posters and set up the bake sale. Three members from the team did the baking, along with a few parent volunteers that they asked to pitch in as well. One parent even donated a dozen jars of honey! The bake sale itself went really well and raised around a hundred dollars. During the bake sale ETF students gave out free honey for people who did not bring money if they answered a trivia question about pollinators correctly. “I thought it was delicious,” a student says with a wink. “That free honey was great, with the trivia questions.”20160914_120711

The money that ETF got from the bake sale will be donated to an organization that supports pollinators, and some will stay with ETF to help us create new ideas for the year.
