The Community Adventure Program was in high gear once again last week. We rolled up our sleeves on Tuesday and jumped right into our Action Project. During this class, students will brainstorm local outdoor and environmental issues affecting our community and will create and implement a student directed service-learning project to address a problem in order to have a positive impact in the community. After brainstorming approximately 30 issues affecting our community, the class chose to address the pine beetle infestation problem affecting Boulder County, Colorado, and much of the Southwest.
On Wednesday, we read an article about the importance of attitude in survival situations by reading a chapter in Tom Brown
