Hot Temperatures and Hotter Throws at 2024 The Throwdown

On Saturday July 13th, 2024, 30 teams gathered downtown at McGregor Square to participate in Denver’s favorite Charity Cornhole Tournament, The Throwdown! With proceeds from the tournament going to supporting Cottonwood Institute’s CAP Class at AXL Academy in Aurora, the tournament gives teams a highlight their cornhole prowess, win epic prizes, and participate in an exciting Silent Auction.

With temperatures steadily rising, the tournament began with an exciting series of games. Attendees enjoyed cool drinks from Trader Joe’s and Coors Light, as well as delicious pizza from Anthony’s Pizza & Pasta The heat couldn’t stop the fun! Passersby joined in on the fun at our side games table, with chances to put their bag tossing skills to the test with challenges ranging from “Longest Throw,” to “Hole-in-One Trick Shots.”

But the real winners are the students who get to join in on Cottonwood’s upcoming programs. We are happy to report that this year’s tournament raised over $27,000!

Thanks again so much for making the Throwdown such a fun event, and thank you to our incredible Sponsors & Partners for making The Throwdown such a success!
