Cottonwood Institute (CI) is committed to providing life changing programs for historically marginalized students in Aurora, Denver, and Boulder, CO in order to achieve our vision and mission. Your gift of cryptocurrency, appreciated stock, or Donor Advised Funds can have a huge impact:
- $1,000,000: Will cover our entire operating budget for a year so we can focus on delivering high quality programs and not on fundraising;)
- $250,000: Will help us deliver 12 CAP Classes for 250 students
- $25,000: Will help fund a week-long Colorado Watershed Project for 25 students.
- $5,000: Will help fund 2 Changemaker students attend our year-long program for Cottonwood alums.
- $2,500: Will help 10 residents from Casa de la Esperanza attend our Familias Unidas en la Naturaleza (FUN) Program.
- $500: Will help cover Action Project costs for our students to design and implement their projects to tackle local environmental issues.
- $250: Will help cover our S’mores budget. We eat A LOT of S’mores during our programs;)
- $25: Will help cover food for 1 student on an overnight camping trip.
In order to break down barriers and keep our programs free to students and families who need our programs most, CI is committed to diversifying its revenue stream so it is not financially dependent on any one donor or funding source. CI is new to stock and cryptocurrency philanthropy and we look forward to cultivating new donors and a new source of funding to help support our programs. Is Donating Crypto or Stock Tax-Deductible?
Donating crypto and stock is a non-taxable event. Donors do not owe capital gains tax on the appreciated crypto and stock that is donated and can typically deduct the fair market value of the donation on their taxes. Cryptocurrency Refund Policy
All cryptocurrency donations made to Cottonwood Institute via The Giving Block are nonrefundable. Every token that is donated is put to work as soon as possible. When we receive your donation it is understood that this is made to support CI’s mission and we are grateful for your support. As these donations are often immediately converted into fiat, we do not offer refunds on any donations that are made in cryptocurrency. We are not able give refunds if you changed your mind, sent the wrong cryptocurrency, or made the wrong decision. Cottonwood Institute does not, has not, and will never offer any form of cryptocurrency airdrop, goods or services in return for a donation.
