CAP students are expected to broaden their outdoor knowledge and skill base by tapping into the rich educational resources in their community. In order to accomplish this goal, students will take advantage of the free outdoor skills clinics, workshops, and slide shows offered by outdoor retail stores in the Colorado Front Range. Below are some of the hot events going in the community this week:
Monday, February 2, 2004 – Introduction to Ice Climbing Clinic, with the Women’s Wilderness Institute. Monbell, Boulder, 7pm.
Tuesday, Febrary 3, 2004 – Extreme New Zealand, Mountain Sports, Boulder, 7pm.
Wednesday, February 4, 2004 – Winter Camping Basics, REI, Boulder, 7pm.
Wednesday, February 4, 2004 – Everest Base Camp: A Naturopathic Perspective. Featuring a Doctor on Staff of an Everest Expedition, Outdoor Divas, Boulder, 7pm.
Thursday, February 5, 2004 – Waxing Social, Mountain Sports, Boulder, 6pm.
Thursday, February 5, 2004 – I Made It! Video of Göran Kropp’s amazing ascent of Mount Everest. Starting in his native Sweden, Göran bicycled to Kathmandu, carried all his own baggage to Everest, climbed it without oxygen, and bicycled home. Neptune Mountaineering, Boulder, 8pm.
