I would like to take the opportunity to thank all of the new students who are about to embark on the maiden voyage of the Community Adventure Program (CAP). This program represents the realization of a project I have developed through the Master of Arts Program (MAP) at Prescott College. I am fortunate to be a part of the New Vista High School community and I am excited for the incredible learning opportunity that lies ahead for all of us.
Mark Twain once said, “twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the things you did. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” Everyone participating in the CAP, from students to parents to community members, are about to set sail to explore, dream, and discover together. This Blog will be used to document our experience with the Community Adventure Program. I wholeheartedly encourage everyone who visits this site to take advantage of this technology by using the comment feature below to share their words of wisdom, inspiration, and encouragement to all of the students about to embark on this incredible journey.
I would like to send out a special thanks to my family for all of their love and support, to my friend Mikal Belicove for educating me about the world of Blogging, to my cousin Byrne Reese for all of his hard work in breathing life into this Blog, and to my MAP advisor and mentor Rick Medrick for all of his feedback and encouragement.

Ford,
The program sounds great and knowing you it will be incredible! I am so proud of you following your passion and touching others on your journey. As you know the outdoors is one of my loves and I am so glad we have you to teach others how to enjoy, protect and prolong our experiences.
