Today we were fortunate to go on an Environmental Issue Hike with Valerie Tierce, a Ranger/Naturalist from the City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks. We covered a variety of environmental issues affecting Boulder including invasive plants such as myrtle spurge, other invasive species such as the New Zealand Mud Snail, erosion and social trails, and the challenges of managing the use of land around Boulder. Boulder’s Open Space and Mountain Parks, which includes Chautauqua Park, receives over 4 million visits per year! All of this was great to witness firsthand so we will be ready to vote on our Action Project Issue on Monday. Great job this week everyone!
