We love to see the Cottonwood Institute community getting recognized for the great work that they do, and we had two great examples this month! Read on for two recent news items spotlighting friends of CI, and be sure to get in touch if you have a story to share!
“From a Bad Ass Teen to a Bad Ass Brewer”
CI Alumna Aleyna Porreca isn’t the only member of the CI community to go on to a career in the world of beer and brewing—in fact, she wasn’t even the only one in the room when she met up with CI Instructor and craft beer blogger April Pishna for an episode of April’s podcast, Craft Beer Travel & Adventure. Aleyna and April discussed the outdoors, adventure, and IPAs when they met up at Storm Peak Brewing in Steamboat Springs. We spoke to Aleyna for an Alumni Spotlight early last year. Check out the podcast and then read that conversation here!
The Future of Cycling Tours? This Might Be One Way–We Ride 4’s Tour of Colorado
Next time you’re out in the mountains of Colorado, keep an eye out for a group of riders from We Ride 4 Cycling Club! They’re hard to miss in their blue and pink kits—just look for the cottonwood leaf on the front. CI and We Ride 4 inaugurated their partnership earlier this year, and it’s already been an amazing match! They helped us organize the first ever CI Move-A-Thon, and have been spreading the word about CI when they’re out on the road. 303 Cycling recently shared this story about how We Ride 4 has been adapting to the pandemic and finding creative new ways to keep their cycling tours rolling.
