What started as a cool, misty, and cloudy day at Denver’s Union Station turned into a perfect day for The Throwdown 2017, our annual charity cornhole tournament to benefit Cottonwood Institute. 32 corporate teams and 16 competitive teams battled it out, but only 1 team from each bracket would emerge victorious.
In the corporate bracket, Team Hole-y ‘Mole from Chipotle Mexican Grill took 1st place, followed by Michigan or Bust from Nokia and Shake ‘N Bake from Orangetheory Fitness, who took 2nd and 3rd respectively. Look out for an ad in the August 11th, 2017 issue of the Denver Business Journal to celebrate the corporate winners. The competitive bracket attracted some amazing players with Dawg and the Money taking 1st place for the 2nd year in a row, followed by Corn Dogs and Hole Patrol. Overall, we raised over $27,000 to support our programs that are transforming the way we empower public school students to become leaders and problem solvers in their communities. To learn more about Cottonwood Institute and our programs, click here.
A huge shout out goes to our friends at Great Divide Brewing Company, Chipotle Mexican Grill, The Real Dill, Deep Eddy Vodka, and Fluid Coffee Bar for keeping everyone well fueled during the tournament. And we love it when our donors and sponsors support each other, so please check out all of our 2017 Throwdown sponsors.
