Come get your hands dirty with Cottonwood Institute and one of our West Denver partners, Re:Vision. The Cottonwood Institute is excited to partner with Re:Vision and the Westwood Co-op here in Denver to offer a fun urban farm volunteer project on Saturday September 12th, 2015 for our supporters, staff, students, parents and partners.

Re:Vision is a non-profit organization “committed to partnering with Westwood, and neighborhoods like it, to grow solutions.” In 2007, Re:Vision started working with residents to transform an area known for being a food desert into “a local food oasis.” More recently they launched the Westwood Co-op which actively provides jobs, training, and affordable food to this neighborhood. Matching with Cottonwood’s mission to empower students to take action, Re:Vision trains local men and women as community leaders, and is “dedicated to keeping power in the hands of the people and to cultivating thriving, self-sufficient communities.” Several groups of Cottonwood students have used Re:Vision as a resource for their projects in the past years.

Volunteer activities may include: urban farming projects, weeding, planting, harvesting, composting, as well as cleaning, demolition, and construction projects at the Co-op.

By signing up for this volunteer project, you will be helping support this fantastic community oriented work and one of Cottonwood Institute’s partners in providing students with the tools and knowledge to make change in their own communities. Lunch and some Cottonwood-fun will be provided! In order to register you must complete and return this registration packet by August 28th, 2015. There is a limit of 30 volunteers and your completed registration holds your spot. We will start a waiting list as needed, so be sure to register early!
